🐉 BoD Marking Maker

Pick a dragon. You paint directly on its model with only the colours Book of Dragons understands, then export a ready-to-drop-in genetics pack. No Blockbench, no decompiling.

How markings work in BoD (30-second version)
  • The dragon's base texture is greyscale in six shades; a palette (six colours, dark→light) colours it.
  • A marking is a mostly-transparent PNG the same size as the base. Every painted pixel is one of six grey shades (or the same shades in pure red / green / blue), each such channel gets its own palette in game.
  • Markings normally copy the base's shade pixel-for-pixel ("multiply" workflow) so shading stays consistent — that is this tool's default brush. Stock markings are painted at 80 % opacity with 40 % soft edges.
  • Each marking goes into a locus (body pattern, wing pattern, face, …) with a rarity. Names must be lowercase.

Installing the pack

Drop the .zip into the server's (and every client's) BODGeneticsPacks/ folder and restart. Only the pool entries are written — the pack never overrides expression counts or weights, so it merges with the stock pools and other packs instead of replacing them (two packs that both ship a marking with the same name for the same species still collide — the last pack loaded wins).
